The Pickwick Papers

Dickens' first novel and comic masterpiece that catapulted him to immediate fame. Originally published in 19 monthly magazine instalments, from March 1836 to October 1837, readers were following many adventures of Mr Samuel Pickwick and his traveling companions. In a succession of incidents filled with eccentric characters and social commentary, Dickens addressed the injustice of the justice system and became a humorous observer of the habits of London life.
